Dive Sites in Bali

There are many dive sites in Bali that you will want to see for yourself, especially if you are an avid diving fan. From coral reefs to sunken war vessels, Bali is home to a diverse ocean filled with adventures and aquatic wildlife. There are several sites in Bali that you can choose from, depending on your personal level of diving experience and what you wish to see.

Beginning Divers

Beginning divers will want to familiarize themselves with the areas in the Bali ocean that have a mild current, and still offer a huge array of wildlife. Luckily, Bali has several sites that are perfect when you are a new diver. There are several sites that are less than two hours from the Sanur area by boat. These are the sites of beautiful coral reef stands, which are home to fishes of all kinds, including sharks and sun fish. Manta rays also make their home in the waters just off the coast of Bali, and are quite exhilarating to see firsthand.

Experienced Divers

Experienced divers will be able to enjoy all that the oceans of Bali have to offer, including underwater caves and seas that are carpeted with coral reefs and marine life. Since the current in Bali are somewhat unpredictable and can be rather strong at times, then you may want to make sure that you have a diving buddy with you at all times.

Nusa Peninsula Dives

The dive sites off of the Nusa Peninsula are some of the best for those who want to test their diving skills in a safe environment. The currents in the Nusa area are rather strong for beginning divers in some areas, although there are other sits in the Nusa Peninsula are great for new divers. The Nusa Peninsula dives offer some of the best views of the ocean wildlife in Bali, especially of the coral fish such as napoleon wrasses and sunfish. IF you are more adventurous, then there are also sharks and manta rays seen in the Nusa Peninsula area often.

Sunken Ship

If you want to view the sunken WWII vessel that lies off the coast of Bali at Tulamben, then you will want to hire a guide so that you will not miss all of the site’s wonderful features. The boat is now home to a variety of fishes and corals, which lie just a short distance off the coast of Bali.

Night Dives

Night dives are fabulous experiences for experienced divers. If you want to participate in a night dive offered, then you will need to have at least moderate experience diving in waters with a relatively good current, and have someone in your party who has rescue training or a diving certification.

Costs for Guided Tours

Depending on which site in Bali you would like to see, the cost will vary. Two person scuba tours begin at around fifty dollars, and can go up to around one-hundred and fifty dollars. Typically, more advanced diving tours will cost more, especially in areas where there is a swift current and lower visibility.
